Thanks for taking a look at my website. My pictures

record selected parts of the landscape rather than

traditional views, the pictures go beyond being

recognisable places and become more personal. The

landscape becomes a vehicle for my creative ideas,

amongst the cultural baggage I bring to the act of

picture making are an interest in the perception of

space in the 2D picture plane.  I was influenced by

the graphic manipulation of space in Op art while a

student in the 60's.  I look for landscape motifs

which can influence the way we interpret the

photographic space.  There are of course other

influences including Romantic art and the history of

photography. I interpret landscape through my own

filter of cultural values. The images have only minor

Photoshop manipulations to enhance traditional

pictorial values.
